Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 August 2026
This policy explains what personal data Consilience Media Limited ("we", "us", "our") collects through Qu.ink (qu.ink), why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We're the data controller for the personal data described here.
1. What we collect
From authors (Qu.ink account holders):
- — Your name and email address, when you create an account
- — Your author bio, photo, and social links, if you add them
- — Your book details and cover images
- — Billing details, if you're on the Pro plan (handled by our payment provider — see "Who we share data with")
- — Any messages you send us, for example by email
From readers (people visiting an author or book page):
- — Country, inferred from IP address, used to show the right stores and formats
- — Click data — which buy link was clicked, when, and from where — shown to authors as page analytics
- — Basic technical data such as browser type and device, for security and to keep the service working properly
2. How we use it
- — To create and run your author and book pages
- — To show each reader the stores and formats available in their country
- — To show authors analytics about their pages (7 days of history on the free plan, unlimited on Pro)
- — To bill Pro plan subscriptions
- — To email you about your account, or about Qu.ink where you've agreed to hear from us
- — To keep the service secure and stop abuse
3. Affiliate links
When a reader clicks a buy link on a Qu.ink page, they're sent to the retailer's site, sometimes carrying an affiliate or referral code. That code may let us earn a commission if the reader goes on to buy — this applies to links generated for both free and Pro authors, and is covered in our Terms & Conditions. The retailer handles that visit and purchase directly; Qu.ink doesn't see or store payment details from readers.
4. Who we share data with
We don't sell personal data. We share it only with:
- — Retailers, in the form of an affiliate or referral code when a reader clicks through — retailers don't receive your name or email
- — Our payment provider, for Pro plan billing
- — Infrastructure and hosting providers who run Qu.ink on our behalf, under contract
- — Authorities, if we're legally required to
5. Cookies
Qu.ink uses a small number of cookies to keep you logged in, remember reader preferences like country and format, and measure page performance.
6. How long we keep it
- — Account data: for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you want to reactivate it
- — Free plan analytics: 7 days
- — Pro plan analytics: kept for as long as your subscription is active
- — Billing records: as long as required by law
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict some of the ways we use it. To exercise any of these, get in touch: Email us. If you're in the UK or EU and think we haven't handled your data properly, you can also complain to the ICO or your local data protection authority.
8. Children
Qu.ink isn't intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data we hold. No system is completely secure, but we take this seriously.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll let you know by email or with a notice on the site.
