Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 25 August 2026
These terms govern your use of Qu.ink, the service operated by Consilience Media Limited ("Consilience Media", "we", "us", "our") at qu.ink. By creating an account, adding a book, or otherwise using Qu.ink, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. Who we are
Qu.ink is operated by Consilience Media Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. You can reach us here: Email us
2. Using Qu.ink
Qu.ink lets authors create an author page and one page per book, with buy links shown to readers based on their country and preferred format. You must be at least 18 to create an account. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens under your account.
Qu.ink is for authors, and for publishers, agents and others acting with an author's permission. When you create or manage an author page you confirm that you are that author, or that the author has authorised you to act on their behalf. If we ask, you'll give us reasonable evidence of this.
3. Plans
Qu.ink offers a free plan, a Pro plan for individual authors, and Publisher plans that cover a roster of authors, each with the full Pro feature set. What each plan includes, and what it costs, is set out on our Pricing page and in the app when you buy. Some short URLs, such as a single first name, are available only on paid plans. We may change plan features or pricing; if we do, we'll give existing subscribers reasonable notice before a price change takes effect.
When you buy a Pro or Publisher plan you will be asked to confirm that you accept these terms, and we keep a record of that acceptance.
4. Author names and page addresses
Your author page lives at an address such as qu.ink/jane-harper, and Pro accounts may claim a shorter address such as qu.ink/jane if it's available. Addresses are allocated first come, first served. You don't acquire ownership of, or any lasting right to, a particular address.
We may reclaim, change or reassign an address if we reasonably believe it's being used to impersonate someone, infringes a trade mark or other right, is misleading, has been registered to block or resell it, or is needed to operate the service. Where we can, we'll tell you first.
5. Disputes over author and book pages
If you're an author and you find that someone else has set up a page for you or your books, or has taken the address you'd expect to use, contact us. Tell us the page address, who you are, and how we can confirm you're the author (for example, a link to your publisher's page, your retailer author profile, or an email from your publishing address).
We'll ask the account holder to show they're the author or authorised to act for them. If they can't do so within a reasonable time, or we're satisfied the page is impersonating you, we'll remove the page or transfer it and its address to you. While we investigate we may suspend the page.
We decide these disputes in good faith on the evidence we're given, and our decision is final as far as Qu.ink is concerned. It doesn't affect any rights either party has against the other. We're not liable to either party for a decision made under this section.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you add to Qu.ink — your author bio, book descriptions, cover images, and anything else you upload. By adding it, you give us a licence to host, display and distribute that content as part of running your author and book pages. You confirm you have the right to use everything you upload, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
We don't check content before it goes live, and we may remove or disable content that we reasonably believe breaches these terms or someone else's rights. Keep your own copies of anything you upload: Qu.ink isn't a backup service and we're not responsible if content is lost.
If someone brings a claim against us because of content you've added to Qu.ink, your use of Qu.ink, or because you've broken these terms, you'll cover the losses and costs we incur as a result, including reasonable legal fees, to the extent the claim arises from your content, your use or your breach. This also protects our directors, employees, contractors, and any business we transfer Qu.ink to.
7. Affiliate links and commission
Qu.ink generates buy links that send readers to retailers such as Amazon, Apple Books, Bookshop.org and others. Where a retailer offers an affiliate or referral programme, we reserve the right to enrol Qu.ink-generated links in that programme and earn a commission on qualifying purchases — on both the free and Pro plans. This commission is paid to us by the retailer, not deducted from your sales, and doesn't change the price a reader pays. Commission from affiliate link purchases allows us to offer a free plan to authors.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
CERTAIN CONTENT THAT APPEARS ON THIS SITE COMES FROM AMAZON. THIS CONTENT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE OR REMOVAL AT ANY TIME.
8. Acceptable use
Don't use Qu.ink to host, promote or link to content that's illegal, defamatory, infringes someone else's rights, or that you don't have the right to publish. Don't impersonate another author or person, claim a page or address for an author you aren't and aren't authorised to represent, or suggest an endorsement or affiliation that doesn't exist. Don't interfere with the service, scrape it, or try to get around plan limits.
We also don't allow content that is offensive or abusive, including anything racist, sexist, homophobic or transphobic, or that discriminates against or harasses people on the basis of who they are; or content that promotes, glorifies or incites violence. This applies to your author page, your book pages, and any URL, image or text you add to them. We decide, acting reasonably, whether something falls foul of this.
Accounts found to be impersonating an author will be removed. We can also remove content, release or reassign a URL (see section 11), and suspend or close any account that breaches this section.
If you believe a page on Qu.ink impersonates you or infringes your rights, see section 5 or contact us with the page address and details of the problem, and we'll look into it promptly.
9. Store links and third parties
The retailer pages Qu.ink links to are run by third parties we don't control. We try to keep links accurate and up to date, but we're not responsible for the availability, pricing, or content of any third-party store, and links, prices and retailer data (including data from Amazon) can change without notice.
Qu.ink isn't a retailer. We don't sell books, handle payment for them, or take part in any purchase a reader makes. Any purchase is between the reader and the retailer.
10. Payment and billing
Pro and Publisher plan subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through our payment provider. You can cancel at any time; your Pro features stay active until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, and we don't offer prorated refunds for partial months. If you cancel or a payment fails, your account reverts to the free plan and any content over the free plan's limits may become inactive until you upgrade again.
Every Qu.ink URL (such as qu.ink/yourname) is provided as part of your plan. If a subscription payment fails and isn't made good within a reasonable time after we've told you, we reserve the right to release any URL that was available to you only under that plan, so that it can be used by someone else. We'll try to contact you before we do.
If you're a consumer, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of subscribing. By subscribing you ask us to start providing Pro straight away; if you then cancel within those 14 days we'll refund you, less an amount for the period you've already had Pro. Apart from that, fees are non-refundable except where these terms say otherwise.
11. Ending your account
You can close your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that has been used to impersonate an author, or that we reasonably believe puts Qu.ink, readers, or other authors at risk.
If we suspend or close your account for breaching these terms, or if you close it yourself, you're not entitled to a refund of any fees you've paid, and any remaining subscription period is forfeited. We may also release any Qu.ink URL associated with the account so it can be used by someone else. Once an account is closed we may delete its content and data after a reasonable period, and we're not responsible for keeping copies.
We may change or withdraw Qu.ink, or any part of it, at any time. If we discontinue the service altogether we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and refund any unused part of a period you've already paid for.
12. Disclaimers and liability
Qu.ink is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep the service reliable, buy links accurate and analytics useful, but we don't promise that Qu.ink will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that links will always resolve to the right product or the best price, that analytics will be complete or accurate, or that using Qu.ink will produce any particular number of clicks or sales.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
Subject to that, we're not liable for any loss of sales, profits, revenue, royalties, data or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss, arising from your use of, or inability to use, Qu.ink or any retailer it links to. Our total liability to you for everything arising out of these terms or your use of Qu.ink in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you've paid us in that period, or £50 if you've paid us nothing.
If you're a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll let you know by email or with a notice on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use Qu.ink after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
14. General
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Qu.ink. We're not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another business if we sell or restructure Qu.ink; you can't transfer yours without our consent. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. Nobody other than you and us has any rights under these terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales. If you're a consumer living elsewhere, this doesn't take away any protection you're entitled to under the law of the country where you live.
